Veg Lollipop Recipe | How to make Veg Lollipop

Veg Lollipop Recipe with detailed photos. Veg Lollipop is a crispy and yummy snack recipe made with veggies, paneer (cottage cheese), and some spices is a party favorite and kids’ favorite recipe.

This veg lollipop tastes amazing when served with tomato chutney, homemade veg mayonnaise or schezwan sauce. Here I am using tomato chutney.

Ingredients


For Making Veg Lollipop

1 ½ cup boiled potatoes- boiled, peeled and mashed,  ½ cup capsicum finely chopped, 1 cup cabbage finely chopped, 1 medium-sized onion finely chopped, ¾  cup crushed paneer (cottage cheese), 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste, ½ teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 ½ teaspoon red chili powder, ½ tablespoon chaat masala, ¼ tablespoon black pepper powder, 2 tablespoon cornflour, 1/2  cup all-purpose  flour, ¼  cup semolina( Rava), Oil for deep frying, Salt to taste.

For Making Lollipop Stick

1 big potato cut into long strips 

For Crumb Coating Lollipop

2 teaspoon cornflour, ¼  cup all-purpose flour


How to Make Veg Lollipop


1. Firstly in a large plate or a large  bowl take 1 ½ cup mashed potato.

2. Add ½ cup capsicum and 1 medium-sized onion.

3. Also, add 1 cup cabbage ( squeeze the cabbage before adding) and ¾ cup paneer.

4. Now add 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste.

5. Add ½ teaspoon turmeric powder( Haldi) and 1 ½ teaspoon chili powder.

6. Add ½ tablespoon chaat masala,  ¼ tablespoon black pepper powder and salt to taste.

7. Mix all the ingredients and make a thick mixture. Don’t add water to it.

Veg Lollipop batter

8. Add 2 tablespoons cornflour and 1/2  cup all-purpose flour in it. Mix all the ingredients gently.

9. Additionally, add 1/3  cup semolina (Rava) and mix it.

10. Wash, peel and cut a big sized potato into long strips for lollipop strips.

11. Take a small ball of lollipop mixture on your palm and place one potato stick in the center of that mixture and roll to a cylindrical shape. Cover the potato stick properly.

12. Mix 2 teaspoon cornflour and ¼ cup all-purpose flour into a plate for coating the lollipop. Rolled the lollipop and coat them gently.  And place them into a plate.

13. Lastly, heat oil in a deep bottom pan or Kadai and add lollipop in it. Don’t add too much lollipop together. Deep fry the veg lollipop on medium heat.

14. After 2-3 minutes turn the lollipop and fry until it gets nicely golden or browned.

15. Remove from oil and serve Veg Lollipop with tomato chutney or any dipping sauce.

Note


1. You can add Rice flour instead of semolina.

2. If your lollipop mixture looks so runny, keep it this mixture in the fridge for 1 hour.

3. Apply little oil on your palm before shaping the lollipop.

4. Squeeze chopped cabbage before adding.

5. You can use an ice cream stick instead of a potato stick.
