Chilli cheese toast is a very simple and tasty snack that can serve as a tea-time snack or as a breakfast. This chilli cheese toast is popular Indian street food with few simple ingredients.
Chilli cheese toast is a toasted bread with cheese, green chilli, and capsicum topping. In this recipe, I am making chilli cheese toast on tawa, but you can also prepare it in the oven. Also, for the cheese topping, I have used processed cheese but you can also use mozzarella or cheddar cheese.
Crispy and cheesy chilli cheese toast is an ideal snack for kids tiffin. You can make this recipe with some variations such as using chilli flakes instead of green chili or you can also add chopped tomatoes in the cheese topping.

Ingredients
3-4 bread slice
½ cup grated cheese
1 finely chopped green chilli
4 tablespoon chopped capsicum
½ teaspoon black pepper powder
½ teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoon butter
½ teaspoon grated garlic
Salt to taste
How to make Chilli Cheese Toast
1. In a mixing bowl, take ½ cup grated cheese.
2. Then add 4 tablespoons of chopped capsicum, ½ teaspoon black pepper powder, ½ teaspoon oregano, 1 chopped green chilli, 1 teaspoon butter, and salt to taste.
3. Also, add ½ teaspoon grated garlic.
4. Mix all the ingredients very well.
5. Now cut the bread slices in a triangular shape. Here I am using homemade wheat bread but you can also use multigrain bread or white bread.
6. Apply butter on both sides of the bread.
7. Heat the tawa/griddle and place the bread slices on it.
8. Toast the bread slices from one side on medium flame and then flip it.
9. Now add 2-3 teaspoon chilli cheese mixture to bread slices.
10. Spread the cheese mixture evenly on bread slices. You can add more or less cheese mixture as per your taste.
11. Further, cover the tawa with a lid to melt the cheese.
12. When the cheese melts and toast look crispy, remove it from tawa.
13. Cheesy and crispy chilli cheese toast is ready to serve.
Suggestion
1. You can change the amount of cheese to be used.
2. Instead of griddle/tawa, you can bake the toast in an oven.
