Besan Ladoo Recipe | Besan Ke Laddu | How to make Besan Ladoo with detailed photos.
Besan Ladoo is a very popular and traditional Indian sweet recipe made from gram flour, ghee, sugar, and some nuts. Mostly this sweet dish of ladoo is prepared during the festive season and on special occasions. Especially in Maharashtra, people make this besan ladoo recipe in the festival of Diwali.
Besan Ladoo is a sweet ball prepared by roasting the gram flour in clarified butter (ghee). The roasting part of this recipe takes an important role in making mouth-melting besan ladoo. Here I am sharing a traditional recipe of ladoo, which will help you to make yummy and mouth melting ladoo easily.

Ingredients
2 cups Besan (Gram flour)
¾ cup sugar
½ cup Ghee (clarified butter)
½ teaspoon Cardamom powder (elaichi)
1 teaspoon chopped Almond (Badam)
1 teaspoon chopped Cashew nut ( Kaju)
Preparation
1. Take ¾ cup sugar in a grinding jar.
2. Grind the sugar into a fine powder.
How to roast the besan for ladoo
1. Firstly, heat the kadhai or pan and add 2 cup besan.
2. Dry roast the besan on a low flame.
3. Stir continuously until besan looks slightly golden. It takes about 10 to 12 minutes.
4. Add ½ cup ghee and mix with besan gently.
5. Continuously stir the besan on low flame.
6. After Roasting for 10 to 15 minutes, besan releases the ghee.
7. Now add 1 teaspoon finely chopped cashew and 1 teaspoon almond and mix very well.
8. Stir and roast continuously until it looks golden brown and also turns aromatic.
9. Switch off the flame and transfer the ladoo mixture to a plate and let it cool down slightly.
How to make besan ladoo
1. Add ½ teaspoon cardamom powder.
2. When the mixture is slightly warm, add powdered sugar. Don’t add sugar when the besan mixture is hot. If you add powdered sugar to the hot mixture, sugar will melt and make the mixture watery.
3. Mix the powdered sugar in the besan mixture very well.
4. Make sure that sugar will combine with besan evenly.
5. Take a small ball sized besan mixture and make a round shape ladoo.
6. When you shape the ladoo, put half piece of cashew on it and gently rolled the ladoo.
7. Finally Besan Ladoo is ready to eat. You can store the besan ladoo for 15 to 20 days.
Suggestion
1. Roast the besan in ghee only on low flame until it aromatic and golden brown in color.
2. You can add nuts of your choice.
3. Also, you can increase or decrease the amount of sugar.
