Coconut Almond Modak | Instant Modak | Modak Recipe with detailed photos.
This simple coconut almond modak is made with desiccated coconut, almond, milk, and sugar. Modak is a favorite food of lord Ganesha. It is mainly prepared during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi.
This is an instant modak recipe which is prepared within 15 to 20 minutes and also tastes good.
For preparing this recipe, I am using dried coconut but you can also use fresh coconut. Also for making saffron milk, I have taken 2-3 teaspoons of warm milk and then added a pinch of saffron to it.

Ingredients
½ cup Desiccated coconut
½ cup Almond
1 tablespoon Ghee (clarified butter)
2-3 teaspoon Saffron milk
½ cup Milk
¼ cup Sugar
¼ teaspoon Cardamom powder
Preparation
1. Add ½ cup almond to the grinding jar.
2. Grind to a fine powder.
How to make Coconut Almond Modak
1. Heat the kadhai with 1 tablespoon of ghee.
2. Add ½ cup desiccated coconut and stir on medium flame. If the coconut flakes are too big then slightly grind them.
3. Stir continuously until it looks golden.
4. Add almond powder and stir.
5. Further, add ½ cup of milk.
6. Mix well and make sure no lumps are formed.
7. Add 2-3 teaspoons of saffron milk and stir.
8. Now add ¼ cup sugar and ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder. Stir and cook until sugar dissolves
9. Cook the mixture until thicken.
10. Remove the mixture from the kadhai and let it cool down.
11. Grease the modak mould with ghee and fill the modak mixture in it.
12. Gently open the mould and your modak is ready.
13. Finally, offer Coconut almond modak to Lord Ganesha.
Suggestion
1. If desiccated coconut has large thread then grind it for 1 or 2 rounds in the grinder.
2. You can skip adding saffron milk.
