Paneer Lauki Kofta Curry Recipe with step by step photos. Paneer lauki kofta curry is a rich and tasty dish of paneer (cottage cheese) and lauki (bottle gourd) in an onion-tomato based spicy curry.
Here, I’m using Homemade Paneer to make this recipe more flavourful.
This paneer lauki kofta curry can be served with rice, Rumali Roti, or with Garlic Naan.

Ingredients
For Making Curry Paste
1 ½ Onion, 4 tbsp desiccated coconut, 1 Tomato, 7-8 clove, Ginger garlic paste, Coriander leaves
For Making Curry
2 Bay leaf, 1 tsp dry fenugreek (Kasuri methi), 1 tsp Coriander powder, ½ tsp Turmeric powder , 1 tsp Red Chilli powder, 1/2 tsp Garam masala, ¾ cup coriander and salt to taste.
For Making Kofta
1 ½ cup grated bottle gourd (lauki), 1 cup Paneer cubes (cottage cheese), ½ cup Gram flour (besan), 2 tsp Green chilli paste, 1 tsp coriander powder, coriander leaves, ½ tsp turmeric powder and salt to taste.
Making Paste for Kofta Curry
1. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan or kadhai add onion and fry until onion gets brown.
2. Add desiccated coconut and roast with onion.
3. Add tomatoes and roast them for 2 – 3 minutes.
4. Transfer the mixture into bowl. Now add ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves and make smooth paste using some water.
Preparing Kofta Curry
5. Heat the pan or kadhai with 4 tbsp oil. Fry bay leaves, add paste and fry for 2-3 minutes. Cook til the oil starts to leave the sides of the paste.
6. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and crushed kasuri methi in it and mix well.
7. Add 1 glass of water and salt. Stir well on high flame for 2-3 minutes and simmer for 10 minutes on low flame or till the thickness slightly. Then add coriander leaves and switch off the flame. Our gravy for kofta curry recipe is ready.
Making Paneer Lauki Kofta
8. Take a bowl, add 1 ½ cup grated lauki (bottle gourd), ½ cup Gram flour (besan), 2 tbsp green chilli paste, 1 tsp coriander powder, coriander leaves, ½ tsp turmeric powder, salt to taste and mix all the ingredients.
9. Take one paneer cube, add it in kofta batter to make koftas.
10. Grease the steaming plate with some oil and place the koftas on it (You can also deep fry these koftas instead of steaming). Place all koftas into steamer and steam for 10 to 15 minutes.
11. After 10 to 15 min, Paneer lauki kofta is ready.
Making Paneer Lauki Kofta Curry
12. Add all steamed koftas in curry.
13. Transfer paneer lauki kofta curry into a serving bowl and garnish it with tomato, green chillies and coriander leaves. Serve with roti or rice.

- Take one paneer cube, add it in kofta batter to make koftas.

- Add all steamed koftas in curry.
